Frequent network outage, regular billing problems

I have an Airtel postpaid connection since last 3 years. Rest of my family also has multiple Airtel pre/post-paid connections. Along with the regular voice calls, I also use Airtel GPRS services. My experience with Airtel has always been average.


Billing problems have been frequent. Once I was "gifted" 1000 Airtel-to-Airtel "free" minutes. It later turned out that I was actually charged Rs. 299/- each month for those "free" minutes. I don’t get any CUG benefit, in spite of most of my calls being to my family’s Airtel connections.


Often online bill payments, made through  netbanking services, don’t get credited to my Airtel billing account and I am charged late fee. When I complain to Airtel CC, they rudely tell me to prove the payment to nearest Airtel Care Center with a bank statement.


Network congestions and network outage(especially in my locality Pashan, Pune)are so frequent, that I finally took Idea postpaid connections last week for myself and my family. We’ll be migrating all our contacts and voice calls to Idea pretty soon, and get rid of the Airtel connections for once and for all.
