My earlier experience with Airtel (Friendz card) was quite good although this time, I have been bitten so much, that I have decided to simply not use my prepaid connection - for theres no deactivation in Prepaid.
Network in Mumbai
After the fire at their Lower Parel office last year, the network has started failing miserably. Call drops are rampant, call connections are equally disgusting. Error in network connections, wrong number are all too common probabilities this time around. Airtel that once prided itself on having the best network in Mumbai has now been reduced to being just another operator.
Automated Add-ons
Airtel will activate paid services on your number without your consent. They simply will. And expect that you pay for it. They deducted, a lot of times, amounts varying from 1 re to 10 rs per day for their stupid idiotic services that do not work. Not that I am interested in them, but if you "offer" then you must "deliver" too. But No! That doesnt happen. And they are non-repentant. They will NOT refund your amount even if it is them whove activated it.
Customer Care
BPL (Loop Mobile)s network in Mumbai is bhangaar but atleast they have a sensible CC at work. Airtel doesnt even have that. The most ill mannered, idiotic, dumb executives are with Airtel. And this has ALWAYS been the case. Airtel can pride itself as having the most indifferent and dumb customer care. Bakwaas experience. If you keep calling them, THEYLL BLOCK YOUR NUMBERS ACCESS TO THE CUSTOMER CARE.
Verdict
ChorTel : I am ending my 3 year tryst with Airtel. When Vodafone took over Hutch, their network took a massive beating but now its at the TOP. Its the best in Mumbai. May the doggie reign supreme!

DO NOT GO FOR AIRTEL. I can vouch that youll suffer if you do get on with them ;) Amen.
