The Ajmer Sharif Dargah is situated in the heart of the city at Nathwan Shah, Khsdim Mohalla, Ajmer in Rajasthan. There is the shrine of Sufi saint Moinuddin Chisti is located. This is very nice religious place where no casteism or category is counted.Hindu Muslim or any community people can visit there without any restrictions. This is a beautiful Maqbara with tomb over and stands on strong and heavy pillars.
The Nizam gate is the main Gate of the Dargah from where all entries of pilgrims are made. It is said that the Dargah was built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan.The urs for Moinuddin Chisti is celebrated every year and on this day they offer colorful chadder to Baba which brings all the way from Delhi. The Dargah is coming under Government of india and the committee appointed by the Govt, takes the maintenance of the the Dargah and proper care of shrine. There are guest houses and medical dispensaries, for benefitted of devotees.
The place is safe and peaceful, you can walk through anywhere without any fear or restrictions. The whole day you will find heavy rush of devotees and they keep coming regularly from all over the country. It said that if you visit with pure heart your all desires will be fulfilled by the Baba.The Ajmer is a beautiful religious and tourist place where so many hotels are available in the city for peaceful stay. There are other good attractions to visit like Haji Ali dargah, Ana lake, fly sagar lake, pushkar firth and lake, Brahma and Shiv mandir, Amer fort, Aravalli range, jain
Temple, Taragarh fort etc.
I visited this place in 2006 along with my Pushkar tirth.Though I don’t remember everything in detail but no doubt this is the great holy place commonly for all the people. Some body said this slogan which is very much true that’Log khali haath aate hen lekin jholi bhar kar jaate hen.’ So I suggest to visit this holy place by everyone for the blessings of Sharif Baba.
