When AllAdvantage (or AA as members knew it), it was the first of its kind and was all the web was talking about. They offered a great payout rate of $0.50 an hour for a maximum of 50 each month. It suited everyone and advertisers were competing to appear on the famous adbar. As time went on, AA had competitors paying higher amounts with longer time allowed. Such competition included Get Paid 4, Desktop Dollars and Spedia (the best at the moment). Most of the competition died after 6 months since the launch, and now AA has too.
The first fence that AA had to jump was the lack of money advertisers were willing to pay, they had to drop their hours as dropping the rate would not be popular. AA was now 25 hours a month. The next hurdle was the immense popularity of AA worldwide. They released UK, French, German, Spanish and many more versions of AA, each paying in local currency. Of course this costs money and creates more jobs, but they survived well, probably the $22m it was funded with.
About 6 months ago, AA dropped rates again, from $0.50 an hour to $0.18 an hour. This proved very unpopular so AA had an idea. What if they combined the total earnings each day and made a single daily jackpot. For about a month, AA was paying a daily jackpot of about $300, 000 to one lucky member. This idea failed, they just couldn’t afford it so the daily jackpot went down to $10, 000.
Lack of interest caused AA to close its worldwide marketplace by only offering the site in US. People just weren’t interested anymore so now when anyone tries to access AA a simple 500-server error is produced.
Lets just hope the same fate does not hit this site!
