ANNIYAN---

If you haven’t watched Anniayn yet, please go and watch it immediately coz it may not be in theatres next week. Baffled??? Go ahead.

Anniyan comes in the usual Shankar’s alternative series of serious and light (love) movies. (Gentleman, Kadhalan, Indian, Jeans, Mudhalvan, Boys and now…Anniyan)

There’s absolutely no flaw in Shankar deciding to go with the same success series but there’s absolute flaw in taking Indian again .Yes This movie reminds me of INDIAN in many scenes , though , definitely not taken as powerful as Indian.

Few examples.

  1. Lecture to people before media.

  2. Flashback. It was Killer kamal’s daughter in that movie but here Vikram’s sister.

(Don’t forget other flashback in Gentleman)

  1. Serial killing of wrongdoers, dishonest people etc.

The only difference between these two movies is that in Indian Kamal would know that he kills but here Vikram doesn’t. Vow!!!!!! Howz dat??????

If you ask me this I have to compare Anniyan with Chadramukhi.Ya..You hav read it correctly. CHANDRAMUKHI, coz this film, I mean Vikram has split personality.

In Chandramukhi, it was two and here it is, three. OK OK I do accept that this subject was decided long time before Chadramukhi had started but seeing it for the second time gives a blasé feeling.

In more than half of the movie, Vikram’s hair hides his face so his fans are unfortunate to see how he acts. But Vikram’s performance in the climax must be lauded where he acts like two personalities simultaneously. Kudos to Vikram’s performance in that scene.

Vivek’s comedy which goes with the storyline must be mentioned here as a boon to the audience.

At this juncture we must also appreciate Shankar who is constantly setting his plate to give some messages in his movies. But this time he has fallen down no the wrong side of the bed.

I think if Shankar does not rest on his laurels he can give a far better movie than Anniyan. Had it been someone else’s movie I would have rated it 3 in a scale of 5 but since its Shankar’s movie and he has not lived up to expectations I am rating it 2.

This movie can be watched once.
