· In between 1999 and 2004, 19, 375 cases of kidnapping have occurred.
· In 1999 the Bihar recorded 2, 605 kidnapping cases of which 369 were purely for ransom. Did you count the number again!!!!!
· In 2000, 2, 678 cases of which 431 were for ransom.
· 2001 recorded 2, 830 cases of which 572 were for ransom.
· 2002 there were 3, 201 kidnappings and 690 of these were for ransom.
· In 2003, there were 3, 500 kidnappings of which 711 were for ransom.
· 2004 there were 3, 931 kidnappings of which 904 were for ransom.
Frightening Reality now:-
· Practically 8 or 10 kidnappings took lace everyday through out Bihar every day.
· Reality is in almost 95% cases Ransom was paid. Why? Coz the institution of law and govt machinery was not able to give protection to its people.
· Truth is indeed the same. Mediators were indeed the Law Machinery who felicitated these kidnappings and orchestrated the poor businessmen and people to pay for it.
· Local police officials often play the role of mediator between the kidnappers and victim’s family, for obvious reasons
· the police officials get a cut from the ransom paid, depending on the cases. More the well known being kidnapped, more will be the ransom commission
· Kidnapping mafia is on the tune of 20-25 and all of them Major divided in areas. Around 250-300 subgroups that carry out these kidnappings enjoy their power and patronage. Law is passé for them.
· Not a single arrest made for these kidnappings done for all these years. Even if arrested, Fir filed was for some petty issue for which the kidnapper was granted bail.
Movie Facts that got sidelined: -
· Even as you saw the movie, avg.3-5 kidnappings went unnoticed
· Whole machinery collapsed in Bihar yet Laloo was the one who ruled the conscious of people
· Criminals are made out of those normal people who are true. Truth is the crime generator factory in Bihar, contrary to other areas.
· Those who are true are not the people who are running the machinery
· Corruption, is the first thing anyone can think
· Political kidnapping is a fact
· Female community is the one which always bears the brunt of all these crimes
· Kidnapping a Child can fletch you more money than a normal businessman
· Doctors are never safe in Bihar. Everyday is a battle for life
· Truth is oppressed where as corruption is everyday life matter
· Cold blood killing is a reality even in the well known urban areas in Bihar
· Intention is not unrest, but political shift is the agenda
May be I have missed on some points, but yet the fact remains the same…. EVEN GOD CANNOT CHANGE BIHAR. Musharraf , you need one Bihar in Pakistan !!J
