As another reviewer had written, we reached the resort a good 4 hours before the check-in time and the hotel staff warmly welcomed us and upgraded automatically to a "SUITE". Ironically, we did not even realize this until the last day. We had booked a 4 night / 5-day package from a popular internet travel portal and the deal included many things like local sightseeing, free continental breakfast, as well as either free lunch or dinner and many other goodies. The hotel fulfilled it every promise as per the package even without us having to remind about any of them.
Apple Country Hotel - Manali unorganized staff: The staff were not only courteous and well mannered but also did the right things. In our past experience, we have seen that at many places, although the intentions of the staff are to clearly be very polite their actions will hardly reflect those thoughts but not so @ Apple Country.. Coming to the restaurant, the food was fabulous!!! Very delicious food but not so healthy, of course :) (BTW, for the health conscious, I lost a few pounds in spite of the food because of hectic activities, so don’t worry too much about it).
The resort has a sauna, steam bath facility, a small gym, discotheque, bar (did not use the last 3 so cannot really comment on it). The location of the resort is also at a very picturesque location with snow-covered mountains in the backdrop right from your rooms or restaurant. For kids, they had a separate play area and a decent park for whiling idle time. Free internet is definitely available only at 1 PC at reception (hence the geeks shouldn’t be disappointed if you don’t find a Wi-Fi hotspot ). It’s probably a leased line since the speed seemed to be faster than dial-up and not broadband since the connection was not always available. Apple Country Hotel - Manali Overall, the resort ensured that there could be very little for us to complain.
P.S: One of the tours (through taxicab operator) that they arranged was not so pleasant since the cab got stuck in the middle of nowhere and we lost good 2-3 hours that day until a replacement cab could be sent, but the hotel staff could have hardly complained about that.
