Movie Review Of Armaan

Psst - This section will contain some inside trivia about the film.

Quotes - Good one liners from the movie.

Oops - Goofs From the movie.

Director - Honey Irani

Screenplay - Honey Irani & Javed Akhtar

Directorial Debut of Writer/Former Child Star Honey Irani. Dr. Siddharth Sinha (Amitabh Bachchan in a role which will atleast get him a nomination for the Best Supporting Actor) has an ambition where he wants his hospital to be the best hospital around. He is supported by his adopted Son and neuro surgeon Dr. Aakash Sinha(Anil Kapoor) and Colleague Dr. Neha Mathur (Gracy Singh). Siddharth even neglects his own health for the cause. Things take a twist when Siddharth Dies of a heart attack while saving the life of a hit and run victim. To fulfill the dream of Siddharth Sinha, Aakash needs lots of money and for that he has to marry rich, eccentric and typicall piscean daughter Sonia (Priety Zinta in her best performance till date) of rich business tycoon Gulshan Kapoor(Randhir Kapoor). The Second half is a cliche of how Sonia gets very jealous of Neha and is extremely possessive of Aakash and how Aakash has to cope up with that and his own medical profession and also fulfill his father’s dream. Although the story is very cliche it is wonderfully and handled in a very subtle manner. No melodramatic scenes, no overacting, wonderful starcast and good music (although songs werent required). Anil Kapoor has proved yet again that he is the best actors in the country (Probably one of the very few rare actor in the World who has yet to give a bad acting performance). GRacy Singh and Priety Zinta have given very good performnaces. Amitabh Bachchan has about 20-25 minute screen time and has proved why he is still THE SUPERSTAR . Randhir Kapoor has given a good performance but is sadly a miscast. The Music by Shankar Mahadevan, Eshan and Loy is good. The Cinematography by Ravi Verman is very good. The Scene Where Siddharth Dies is the best scene of the movie. One of the finest films of the year.

Psst -
