I purchased this laptop from lamington road from an ASUS Multi Brand Outlet on
22nd June 2016 @INR41400 with ASUS original laptop bag and a laptop sleeve.
Coming to the product.
Its equipped with Intel’s all new 6th gen SKYLAKE core i5 6200U processor
along with 2GB dedicated graphics of Nvidia GT 930MX
Has 4GB DDR4 system memory with 1TB(5400RPM) Hard Disk
This laptop only comes in FreeDOS
Overall experience after using almost a week
Due to the overall specs the programs run buttery smooth and I am yet to test heavy softwares such as photoshop etc.
The Antiglare Screen truely shines as its treat to the eyes.
Keyboard is well spaced and quite comfortable for long hours of typing.
Touchpad will need some getting used to.
The charger brick is slick due to its compact size.
The build quality is mediocre as it is all plastic with glossy Finish938844 which I personally hate as its a huge finger print magnet
The Battery Life Is really good considering a Full HD Screen and graphic heavy processor
All Cred824it goes to the Skylake processor which is really power efficient and 38WHrs 2-cell Li-ion Polymer battery.
The laptop is pretty thin for a 2.4 kg as it has well distributed weight throughout laptop.
The cooling fan is positioned towards the asus traditional central hinge and I’ll tell you that this lappie remains cool even after long use.
Some of the nitpicking:
RAM can only expandable upto 8GB and making things even worse is the single RAM expansion slot which can be a major blow for heavy gamers
Non-Removable Battery
No IEEE 802.11 ac.
Same as most of the ASUS laptops this laptop comes with 2 years warranty which can be coupled with Accidental Damage Protection by aishwaryasingh23ing INR299 as per ASUS back ro school offer which is valid only till 15 July 2016.
In a nutshell Asus R558UR is a power packed laptop with the latest features that no other laptop of other brand can compete considering the price tag.
