Im very unsatisfied with UTI Bank. The only reason I continue is because my company does not give me a choice of banks for salary accounts. What a monopoly...
To be specific, I bank with their M.G.Road, Bangalore branch. Problems started when their manager wanted me to migrate to Priority Banking. They promised great facilities so I accepted. About a year later, I didnt want to continue with priority features. So in first week of august 2005, I walked in their branch and got my priority banking cancelled. The branch rep insisted that I need to hand over my ATM card since it was priority banking card. I did that. He told that I will get new card and pin within a week. Nothing happened. I called bank almost every alternate day. After about 2 months of following up, I got my ATM card but havent received the PIN till date (mid november). The branch rep told me that ATM card came in aug??? so they destroyed the PIN??? and I need to send a written request to branch. What is phone banking for?
I hope to get the PIN finally.
An equally worse experience I had with UTI Bank in Indore where, they didnt send me the interest certificate as required by Income tax authorities. After lots of followup, I arrived after the due date of returns filing has expired. great!
Also, once I went to UTI to get my account statement for past 6 months. They charge 200/- for that!! and didnt even tell me that they are going to charge.
Their internet banking is useless. I submitted customer requests from internet banking and reply came that this email is ONLY for internet issues. Please mail abc@somethingelse.com for branch or account related issues.
I would suggest people to keep away from UTI bank. Bankers there dont know what is banking all about.
[Update]
I finally got my PIN on 09-Dec-05. 3 months and 3 days after I cancelled my Priority Banking card, and a month after getting my ATM card!
I had complained about their bad service to them various times. I guess I should have met the Vice President and been more vocal about this.
