Jai Verma(Siddharth Malhotra) and Diya(Katrina Kaif) are buddies. Jai becomes maths professor. Both finally get married but Jai only wishes to pursue his career. And what happens to his marriage is what is told through flashbacks and flash-forwards.
ACTION REPLAY(2010) had Aditya Roy Kapoor doing time travel to save his parents’ - Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai - marriage. DISASTER.
BBD has hero Siddharth Malhotra doing time travel to fix an error in his marriage with on-screen wife Katrina Kaif. MAJOR DISASTER.
Both Sid and Kat must LEARN acting. Unfortunately, it’s too late in the day. Sid looks lost. Malhotra is more malware than being hot. It’s about time for Kat to get married and settle down. This movie is like free training for her future domesticity.
Even Sid’s bare-chested torso cannot save the movie. He’s no Salman Khan. Kat’s pencil-thin bikini-clad body doesn’t excite.
For me, time travel is to watch CHINA TOWN(1969) with Shammi Kapoor singing "Baar Baar Dekho" with gay abandon. Had Sid copied this one strand of Shammi, BBD’d be watchable. Sadly, he’s as usual a blank cardboard. Relief. Respect.
Yes. See the movie wearing a kaala chashma. That’s the only roasting heating boiling hot point. Beyond that, kaala chashma conveniently hides you sleeping well through unbelievable time travel. Better than wearing a burqa.
