Discover 125cc with self start

I got my bike on 29th July 2005 which is my birthday also. The onroad price was 49500.00 at that time in Bangalore and for the wax polish I paid 500.00. The guy in Khivraj Bajaj, Kasturba road was really helpful and when I was confused with which color to take he took me to the garage where they kept all the vehicles and asked me to choose by myself. I took a blue one with graphics.

The bike was delivered to me in one day as promised.

As many have already discussed the technical specifications I would just go with the riding experience.

The riding is not up to the mark as the bike slips and the handle starts wobbbling when you brake hard even at 50km/hr. You need to be extracareful in the rain as it slips even at 30-40 Km/hr if you are taking some sharp truns or braking suddenly.

The suspension is really good with sns spring. I didnt noticed it till I drove my freinds bike for some time and got backache. You can drive it for long time without feeling a thing in your back.

However the clutch is not upto the mark and you will get the fingers paining after some time. The gear box is very noisy as the other bajaj vehicles. I hate that sound which comes from the gear box when I change gears. However only the person driving can feel it as once I asked my freind who was riding as a pillion and was not able to hear anything except the engine sound. I dont know why they can’t repair this if it is coming in all the bajaj bikes

Lookwise the bike is good with alloy wheels and the good petrol tank design but it won’t turn heads while you drive. For that you need to upgrade to 150cc bike:).

The brakes are ok but the rear brake is slightly spongy even after changing the brake shoe twice. I use front brake most of the time.

Now comes the mileage, I drive mostly in the city and my avergae is around 30-60 km/hr . I get the mileage of around 45-55 km/l.

One more problem I faced is chain gets loosened and starts making some sound after every 1000 km. I get it serviced every 2500 Kms/3months still I need to make the trip to the service center every 1000 km.

Two strange thing I noticed with my bike. I dont know whether everybody gets the same problem. The first was the silencer developed crack in many places and I needed to replace it after 20000kms and it cost me a bomb at 4500 rs. Plus after around 21000 kms the battery stopped getting charged and everything except the headlight stopped working. I got it replaced again and it cost me 1700 rs.

Thing I really like about this bike is its pickup. With a pillion also it gives a good pickup and acceleration. The other thing is you can drive at 20-30km/hr at fourth gear easily without any vibration.

Though its my bike and I love it and I dont want to say this but I have had enough. I am planning to sell this a get a hero honda hunk or pulsar 180cc, I am still not sure.

Thanks for reading thi.
