Bajaj Discover 135cc

Hi All,

It has been more than a year now that I own the bajaj discover 135cc and I am back to provide you all with a full fledge review.Took good care of the bike till now got it serviced as per the manual got the first three free services and 2 paid service at bajaj as u all aware they hardly do anything apart from washing the bike so got it service this time at castrol bike zone NOIDA.

First 1800 kms did not exceed 60kms then took it to jaipur highway to complete the run in and to see the max blast to my suprise it was cool top speed gained exactly 120 speedo indicated and odometer indicated around 1900kms at that point so the bike was intact with power gunning out of the exhaust as it was new. I know most of you might not agree that I achieved this speed but believe me guys I not working working for bajaj nor does bajaj pay me for anything for writing review on their product.0 to 60 blast is awesum and I can bet u it less than 5 seconds practically also depends on the rider as I hit 65 in 2nd gear also had red light drags a no of times with apache 150, RTR, pulsar 150 180 and 135cc yamaha 4 speed the bike never let me down.No offense towards my fellow rider who own the above mentioned bikes cos it also depends on the rider.Whenever I took my bike for a spin I always tested the top whack and it could easily do 115 any day and if I tuck down it used to touch 120 on the speedo this was the situation till I completed 7500kms.Also raced with apache rtr on gurgaon flyover neck to neck and was ahead of rtr the race went on for around 2 kms+ and I was in a lead of around 1 meter all the way bike was doing 120 on the speedo at that time my odo reading was 4000k approx and it was a yellow RTR and when we both stopped at the red light we spoke to each other and he did appreciate the performance of my bike again NO CONTERVERSY PLS as the rider is still a factor in the rider could be he was not as good as I was in riding.

lets check some speeds attained in each gear

1st gear 30

2nd gear 65

3rd gear 90

4th gear 120 this are the figures achieved before 7500kms on the odo.Now the bike top end has come down to 110 at 9500 rpm max odo reading is 10060kms have not changed the spark plugs yet and they are due this could also be one of the reason for the top speed change my guess but not sure. The best part of the bike is handling and throttle response and never lets u down when u are in need provided u are in the right gear. Acceleration is superb in 2nd and 3rd gear for overtaking. Did not encounter any problem in this one year ownership had some issues with the self starter when it was new got it fixed and no probs till now comes to life immediately with the press of the button.

Not even a single puncture till date and have completed 10k on the odo does that sounds amazing.used the regular engine oil from bajaj earlier and only power petrol during the entire duration till 9000k on the odo and now with price high in petrol have switched to regular petrol that could also one reason for the drop in top speed as I did notice a little difference in throttle response after switching from HP Power to regular oil but I am now using castrol power 1 and bardhal in the tank to take care of impurities in the oil.The bike never let me down let be early morning or late night no matter how the roads were my bike was always there and held my hand in ups and downs without a single complaint.I feel happy for the amount I invested in the bike it has justified the worth and I would definitley recommend this to any one who would like to go for tvs flame for 50+ on road just 2k more approx and u have a mini pocket rocket.

Fuel efficiency as some of you might be intersted to know so let me be true to this it depends completely on the position of your right wrist.Drive it at 50km/hr it will give you 60km/ltr guarenteed provided you do use barakes unnecessarily. Drive it at 80 you will get 50km/ltrand rip it 100 will give you around 40 kms/ltr. The best I got was 66 kms/ltr and worst 42 when I drove 80+ during the entire during to get the tank to reserve and was doing 100+ most of the time out of it. So No complains from me regarding mileage, performance, reliablility and quality so far.

So for college going guys who would like to own a bike light on the pocket regarding maintance, good pickup and top end to compete with other 150cc bikes and good on fuel efficiency this is definitely a great bike.Seating posture is upright and it is very comfortable for long rides would also recomend this bike to married men cos provides good comfort for the second passenger and long seat. The bike is quite stable at any given speed and the bike will not dance when you try to stop it from 100km/hr because of the proper weight distirbution.Graphics or so called stickering on the bike looks good to me specially blue and black depends from person to person.tryres have good grip Any ways now as far as my rating for the bike is concerned it goes like this.

Price ON Road--52 k+ approx can vary from place to place it sounds fair.

Looks/style and colour scheme--8/10 would have looked better with a headlight doom light apache

balance-9/10

Pickup--9/10

Top speed-- 9/10

Fuel Efficiency-8.5/10

Quality-8/10

gearbox-8/10 could have been awesum with a fifth cog

Maintaince-9/10 will not ask u anything apart from regular service and oil and periodic wear and tear parts like tyres, clutch plates, spark plugs anything that any other reliable bike would ask for.
