Bangalore is all hype...

I would have never written this review if I hadnt come across Chennai bashing in almost every Bangalorean’s review. What do u guys have against us Chennaiites? Is it a feeling of inferiority complex? Anyway this review is a answer to all the questions that u raised.

Well when it comes to the climate Bangalore wins hands down. No arguments. But is it the only positive thing that u guys can come up with about your own city. Every other line in the review has to be about how bad Chennai is. Does it make Bangalore any better? And all the hype about Bangalore being the Silicon Valley of India is all up in smoke. With Mahindra city (the largest IT park in Asia) almost nearing completion, Chennai would be far ahead of Bangalore and Hyderabad and soon MNCs would be making a beeline towards Chennai. And Chennai is much more advanced when it comes to Textile or steel industry than Bangalore. So the overall revenue that Chennai generates is greater than Bangalore. And already Chennai is the highest job producing city in India. Truth hurts. Bangalore is no longer the dream city it once was.

And if it werent for the Software engineers from Chennai who work in Bangalore, Bangalore would be no where near being called an IT city. More than 50% of the employees there are Tamilians. Well let me keep that all aside.

Another often raised argument is that the auto drivers in Chennai are cheats. Well the auto drivers in Bangalore are no saints themselves. Maybe they charge less. Fine, agreed. But how about the general public. You dont see Chennai public indulging in stone throwing and riots. It is been ages since such a thing happened in Chennai. But riots are a common occurence in Bangalore. People indulge in stone throwing in theatres which screen non kannada films. There are Tamil fanatics in Chennai as well but these people dont indulge in activities that damage public llife. Even today some Tamil activists indulged in painting English advertisements with tar but that didnt affect the public life and those activists were arrested. I repeat, they were ARRESTED unlike in Bangalore where they are allowed to go scot free if they are Vishnuvardhan’s fans. In Chennai a lot of non Tamil films are screened but people dont make a big issue outta it.

Forgot to add - the Chennai crowd’s behaviour during India - Pakistan match stands testimony to the decency of the Chennai crowd in general. And Bangalorean crowd is known to have thrown rubbish and bottles on the ground during matches where India was in an unfavourable position.

People indulge in stone throwing over Cauvery issue. Not in Tamilnadu. Farmers in Tamilnadu were pushed to desperation where they were forced to eat rats but still the protests were peaceful. Tamilians are the most peaceful in India. Bangalore hosts a group of riot mongers.

No other state has ever disrespected the Supreme Court order thrice within a span of 4 months. Bangalore again holds the distinction for doing this. One when Supreme Court ordered the release of Cauvery water to Tamilnadu after carefully hearing the arguments from both sides. The learned judges felt that Tamilnadu’s cause was just and ordered Karnataka to release the said amount of Cauvery water with immediate effect. Naah the uncultured idiots didnt do it.

Secondly the Supreme Court asked Bangalore to take stringent action against people involved in arson against the screening of non Kannada films. Naah nothing of that sort happened.

Maybe Cennai has a cooum flowing through the heart of the city but atleast its people have clean hearts and are more sensible.

On the whole this review was a terrible attempt at review writing but atleast I let the Bangaloreans know that they are in no way better than us.

I dont care if I get a NU rating.
