I am a very disappointed client of Big tv. I purchased BIG TV DTH package few months ago, thinking that this will deliver us from the “goonda” cablewalas who control the cable in our area. I went to the local dealer and bought the package. He promised us that it is a great service with “more than 200 channels”. At that time, delivery service was very very prompt. I was extremely happy with the good start. We had no problems and the quality was great too.
Slowly, the things stared going downhill from there. First was the problem with the channels. Instead of “over 200 channels”, it showed just 184 channels. So “over 200” was way off the mark. But that was not the issue, the worst part was the hardware. The STB would heat up. Also, when the channels are changed, it would hang and would need to be restarted. This was exceptionally irritating. I called the customer service and they kept passing me on from one to another and it kept going on and on and on. Finally, only when I threatened to take them to the consumer court that they replaced my STB(Very promptly indeed!). Now, the new STB is having problems too… The audio quality is very poor and picture is nothing to talk about. So now, I am back to what I am used to doing. Calling their ignorant customer service people and wasting my time. And changing my STB for a second time. It appears that Anil Ambani has not much money already and is not too bothered about retaining his customers. I would rather pay a little more than have such shoddy service. It is an absolute waste of time and money. Stay away!
