Billy Elliot goes down the path of ever so many movies- poor boy rises out of the slums to become famous. But it has one twist- Billy also has to overcome the typical male stereotype to follow his passion all the way to the top. A moving movie that tells and amazing boy who loves to dance and uses this as his ticket out of poverty.
My only disappointment about this film was the level of dancing. As a dancer myself I find it unbelievable that a boy with so little skill could make it in to the Royal Ballet School. I was also disappointed at the end when Billy was grown up and dancing magnificently that we didn’t see more of this. I would have loved to see some more brilliant dancing from Billy at the end of the film.
