The Impresson : A different kind of Indian English Movie.
The Movie : A very decent movie. The movie is about a multimillionaire Rahul Seth and an escort/prostitute Sunita Singh. Both are born and brought up in Canada.
The movie starts off with Rahul’s sister’s marriage finalised and his dad dead and he in love with a canadian pop star kimberly. There’s a good bit of satire when Rahul brings Kimberly home.
Then Kimberly dies in a levitation accident in hollywood. Rahul is devastated. But he is forced to produce a fiancee by his sister’s marriage. He finds Sue(sunita)in a pub and offers to act his fiancee. rahul assumes sunita to be spanish(and she never denies). But later when he takes her to his home he discovers that sue is india in fact.
after a few good scenes rahul’s family and then rahul fall in love with sue.
the turn around is when someone in a party recognizes Sue and calls her a prostitute.
What happens then is also quite well handled.
The Analysis : Well Rahul Khanna as Rahul is very good and has really displayed his skills very well. Lisa ray is a revelation in the movie. Not only does she sizzle throughout but manages to look intelligent and act superb throughout. Moushumi Chatterjee as rahul’s mother overacts but is good for the satire on Bollywood.The overdone Govind...Rahul’s lil bro is also very good. The best part is perhaps Rocky’ Rahul’s chauffer who doubles up as a drag queen.
The emotional scenes have been handled quite well.and the satire served with a punch.
The Music is very bollywood and very good.
The Verdict : Overall A good movie and worth the money. Rahul Khanna and Lisa Ray are very Good.
