BPL Service

I purchased this model over four years back and its given be satisfacotry service over this period. However, I was quite disappointed with the service process when I wanted to have the thermostat controller changed.


Just after the day I called for the service, I read in the papers that BPL has announced a FREE SERVICE campaign from Feb 19 to 25. Therefore, when the service engineer came home and after the service demanded Rs 300 for the house visit, my wife was quite taken aback. She had to show him the advert in the paper and even after that had to make the service engineer call up his office which also tried to tell her that since the call was made on the 18th the service charge was valid even if the service engineer visited on the 19th.


We are shocked that a reputed company like BPL wants to cheat its loyal customers for such spiffing amounts.


I would like BPL to look into the matter as quite often its the dealers or service franchises who try to fool the public. The number I called in Bombay was 5411127 or 5411136 in Bombay, Maharashtra. I guess since I am at Thane, the service is also co-located.


Please look into this.
