Psst - This section contains some inside trivia about the film

Quotes - Good One Liners from the movie

Oops - Goofs from the movie

Director – Ang Lee

Screenplay – E Annie Proulx, Larry McMurtry and Diana Ossana

When 2 unemployed young cowboys Jack(Jake Gyllenhaal) and Ennis(Heath Leadger) get a job at rearing sheep near the mountains at Wyoming. Little do they realize that staying together without any other human company for months together would bring them so close to each other that they fall in love and show homosexual tendencies. When they part after the Sheep Rearing Season is over, they get married to Lureen(Anne Hathway) and Alma(Michelle Williams) respectively and have kids. But deep inside they haven’t yet forgotten their love for each other. They meet up after 4 years of their parting and keep on going to their “fishing trips” up in the Brokeback Mountains. While Jack is more open about the homosexuality side and has a more or less a good married life, Ennis is extremely reserved and always keeps his feelings to himself which eventually leads to a destructive mode. Although the story really has nothing much to say, the acting, cinematography, music score and direction covers up everything. Mature performances by the lead stars. Some of the love scenes will not be easy to digest. Watch out for the one scene in which Jack’s family is having a Christmas Dinner. Largely reminds you of the controversial 1997 Deepa Mehta film, Fire.
