I have been a User of BSNL’s Dataone service for about 4 months now and it is simply great! The speeds are very consistent
and I have always been able to download @ speeds of 29-35 kbps, which I must say is outstanding.
The other good part about this service is that it is very cost-effective. I pay Rs. 500/- per month and have a Download Limit

I have not ’’bought’’ the modem and hence have to pay a Monthly Modem Rent of Rs. 100/-, thereby bringing my Total Monthly Expense to Rs. 600/-. I surf for about an hour every alternate day and haven’t yet had to pay more than Rs. 600/- for a month, essentially meaning, do not worry too much about the Download Limit. Presently, BSNL has also started the site https://dataone.in/ through which you can check you Dataone Email Account and your Download Activity.
BSNL also offers the ’’Night Unlimited’’ option with which you get Unlimited Download from 0200 hrs. to 0800 hrs. I agree that this timing is an extremely nocturnal one :-), but they have given us a facility and you can use Download Managers by scheduling them to connect and download between this 0200 to 0800 hrs. time window, thereby helping you in downloading huge files without affecting the pocket!
All in all, it is a great service and BSNL indeed keeps out-doing itself!!!
