I have been using BSNL DataOne (256kbps Unlimited package) for more than 3 months now and I have to admit that the quality of the service (in terms of download speed & fixing problems, if any) has been much better than I imagined. The speed of the connection has most of the times averaged about 300kbps although the connection was supposed to be only 256kbps. I have downloaded tons of files, one of them as large as 100MB and it took about 45 mins (which in my opinion is very decent speed). By and large, there is nothing much to complain about the BSNL service except two things. Once, there was an outage in our exchange and I did not have service for two full days!!! Another time, I wanted to have voice conversation with my friend in US over WiFi (yes, I have a wireless router and most of the time use the connection from my laptops using skype) but the voice quality was very poor and the connection was getting disconnected very often. But when I had voice conversation with desktop connected over ethernet cable , there wasnt any problem. So this could also have been because of WiFi connection. Overall, having this 256kbps connection for Rs.900 per month, is a deal not much worth complaining about. The reason for 4 stars is the occasional but complete outages, if not for that I would have given 5 stars certainly.
