I’m back from my holidays and was lookin forward 2 catching ‘BuNtY aUr BuBbLy’
but I was slightly dissapointed at the stuff dished out 4rm the Yashraj stable.The movie dint match the expectations that one expected 4rm Yashraj after a great 2004.So lets begin reviewing .Jet set go…………………..
STORY
The story begins with Rakesh(Abhishek Bachchan) and Vimmi(Rani Mukherji) who
r both unhappy in their small towns and wanna go 2 Mumbai 2 make it big.They face opposition 4rm their families and they run away 4rm home.Away 4rm home they step
into the big bad world and r victims of exploitation.2 make money 4 the tickets they
start of by conning which was supposed 2 b a one –off thing but slowly it turns into a habit.They b come famous and r wanted by the police.
Dashrath Singh(Amitabh Bachchan) is the officer who is entrusted the responsibility
2 capture the 2 thugs.The story progresses as 2 how he matches wits with Bunry and Bubbly.
PERFORMANCES
Performances by Amitabh and rani r excellent.I cannot imagine anyone other than Rani have portrayed that role.She fits the role of the small town girl 2 the T.
Amitabh keeps looking great with each passing film.His look of the rugged police officer in his aviator glasses and Bomber jacket is cool.(They even show him brushing his teeth In his aviator glasses)
Abhishek is also good but he falters at some places.In some of the scenes he looks
Overawed by Amitabh’s presence.Overall I think this is his best performance in a solo Hero role.
MUSIC
Music is great and suits the look and feel of the movie.Shankar Ehsaan Loy have made it their habit 2 churn out good music 4 each of their films.
The songs ‘Dhadak Dhadak’, ’Chup Chup ke’, Kajra re’ r good.
A special mention for the rap song picturised in a special video on Big B.Blaaze has done a great job but sadly the song doesn’t figure in the movie.
But 4 me the songs caught on only after repeated hearing esp Kajra re which has Ash in an item no .The music of this movie is a little diff.
PROS AND CONS
The movie is a 2 long and need 2 b trimmed by a tleat 15 min. In some places the movie drags a bit.I think that after it is trimmed it will b able 2 make a better impact.
Some of the get ups of the duo r good and the part where they sell the Taj mahal is good. The last 30 min r good but the movie doesn’t bother 2 explain how dashrath Singh reaches the duo.(Atleast I was not able 2 catch the logic.If anyone has plz explain it 2 me.)
VERDICT
All in all a good time pass movie (esp with Ash’s item number).Should do well in
Small towns .Since the movie released in holiday season and a great star cast the movie may b a above average grosser.
