I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy Pop from Buythe price (BTP246760) - because the price was lower with some discount coupon, shipping was free and had read about their fast delivery on mouthshut. Paid the complete amount at the time of booking it. The delivery came in 3 days - so far so good. To my shock the Courier fellow (First Flight AWB#A25700616)asked for extra money for delivery saying that they have paid for Octroi which along with service tax, has to be born by the customer. Shocked tried calling Buytheprice but they as usual close their customer service at 6 pm. Had no option but to give him the extra money. Wrote to them in the night about it and tried calling them at 10:30 AM next day.
The only phone number of the customer service either came switched off or busy for more than an hour. After talking to them and communicating through emails - they have agreed to refund the amount of Octroi (Rs. 467) after I submit the proof. I raised my voice and complaint about them - so they are refunding it. There are people who will not even think that this is extra charge and they will be cheated.
So bottom line is that Buythe price will benefit out of it by not telling this to customers at the time of ordering. It is cheating to charge the customer extra without informing them about it before the customer places an order. And their customer service has to be available and improve. I waited for a day to write this review and gave them enough time to resolve it.
I escalated the matter to their management but no one has even bothered to respond. Pathetic service.
