Amethyst is a coffee shop but not part of a chain like Qwiky’s, barristas and coffee day These coffee shop chains put a lot into the ambience of the place.they are in general pretty comfortable places in good shopping localities. They are built along the requirement that its a place where you can meet up before doing something else be it shopping or a movie. They are not destinations by themselves. Very rarely do people just want a coffee shop where they can hang out and talk and not do anything else.
But sometimes these places tend to get boring and you look for something different . Amethyst fills that want. Its really an upscale boutique that stumbled into becoming a coffee shop. You can have coffee in the open air which is amazing on a nice day.
There nothing really special about the place other than the fact that it attracts the ’’culturally active crowd’’ Its known more for it ’’laidbackedness’’ than for anything else.
The food and drinks are overpriced (same situation in all coffee shops so its not something to hold against amethyst) and the waiters are more laid back rather than eager to please.
The food and drinks definitely don’t recommend it.
You might like it, you might not....it all depends on what you are looking for.
