Lousiest branch in Delhi

I had to open a salary account in Canara Bank at Jeet Singh Marg branch New Delhi recently. I must say that this has been my worst banking experience so far. I have accounts in other nationalized and private banks and believe me, if there is an award for worst bank branch in India this branch would be the winner. All my colleagues are equally unhappy about the pathetic service and arrogant attitude of the bank staff. You got to spare an hour for even the simplest of transactions such as depositing cash or withdrawing money. Every time I go there the most common scenes at the branch are:


1) Some of the staff are always out for tea or somewhere else (especially the ones who deal with pass book printing, ATM cards and cheque book)


2) Pass book printer is not working


3) Server is down


4) Concerned person is on leave


5) Manager has gone out/not here/on leave


They make everyone wait for long periods for every transaction as if every one of their customer is unemployed or has taken a day off for banking work!! It has taken them more than a week or two to issue cheque books for new accounts and more than two months to get an ATM card and more than three months to generate internet account!!! Since most customers are from surrounding offices they have no choice but to put up with all this non-sense. It is sad to that a bank that has a good reputation in Karnataka is offering such pathetic service in this branch.


I hope if any body from the head office reads this review, they will take some action to mend their ways.
