I bought the Carrier 3 star 1.5 ton Estrella window a/c 3 weeks back. The compressor is very noisy. The noise increases with the usage during the day. After few hours of operation, the fan also starts making noise.Complaints have been done to customer care but they always have the same answer that it is the normal noise. The service engineers who checked my a/c didnot seem to be trained at all.
I repeatedly asked them to carry some machine to check the sound levels but they didnt. When I mentioned to the service engineer that the sales brochure mentions that sound level should be 52 decible, he could not understand what I was saying. The service engineer doesnt even understand the word "decible".
The a/c is so noisy that it feels a cooler is running. I have not been able to sleep properly in the night since I have bought it. have to adjust my TV’s volume everytime it swithces on or off.
This a/c is atleast 3000 Rs expensive than rest of 1.5 ton 3 star a/cs. The whole hype of carrier being a gud company is false. Their a/c are being assembled in Manesar factory and quality is being compromised in a big way. It is better to go for cheaper a/c like LG or Samsung which donot promise great performance in their brochures. Carrier is definitely not in par with OGeneral or Hitachi though it is heavily priced . Wont advice anyone to go for Carrier a/c unless you are deaf!! It is definitely not value for money. I have bought a cooler for Rs22500.
