Amazing screenplay, direction

Well how many  movies do we hav which inspite of having a one line story  has got such a amazing entertainment value.

I was initially reluctant to go for cheeni kum because I thought it was another Lolitha/Nishabd kinda story. but how wrong I was. I mean the core is still on similar lines, but the way they hav explained it and built upon is amazing.

So here goes the brief story I wont cut much in detail into the story since most of you wud have already seen it.

The story in brief is that Tabu is a 34 year old single lady and amitabh is a 64 year old guy, who is older than her father theirs is not a love at first sight, it is just that these 2 mature eccentric people find a lot of things in common in each other, so much so that they fall in love. well somewhere I think the director has tried to play it on the psychological fact that women usually tend to find their fathers character and mannerisms in their husbands. Amit and his mother Zora sehgals interaction is the one that I throughly enjoyed. I mean even though he is sarcastic he potrays his love for her in a very subtle way. the entire scene is about the eccentric dialogues exchanged between the two.

Amitabh has done it so brillantly, man this guy is getting better and better with age. he is miles apart in class with anyone imaginable in India.  he is on par with all the international stars like Al pacino, Sean Connery, Marlon Brando in his age group. even at that age, he is amazing hats off to him. Ok, now expectation setting for the audience - people who are looking for mindless dishum dishum, rajni style of entertainment this movie will be a horror show for u. Yash chopra, karan johar fans - you people wud be yawning too since there is no golden gate bridge song, nor are there any swiss alp mountains in the background, with the couple shaking their bums in the snowfall. david dhawans fans - If you people are looking for some kinda forced comedy like in david dhawans movie this wud be putting you to sleep.

Cheeni kum is about subtelty and the humor is entirely fabricated thru dialogues, screenplay and direction. This is what i liked the best about the movie. It is not too loud, not trying to be extra funny, it is just plain simple entertainment with a funny silver lining.
