Took The delivery of the Car LT Model on 12th October 2007. Have Driven it 3500 kms so far and am highly satisfied owner.
First I would like to tell you all about my buying experience. We wanted to buy a small car in the family. We already have Baleno, Palio, Matiz, Alto, Wagon R, Santro in our immediate family like Self, wife, father, Brothers etc. I drive all cars quite regularly.
So this time when we decided to buy new car we though of Maruti or Hyundai due to obvious reasons of Serviceability and Resale. Finalised the Estilo over the Santro as Estilo is more feature loaded. Then This GM showroom came on the way to the Maruti showroom. so me and dad decided to just drop in and have a look at the spark. The car was indeed beautiful but being from GM Stable we were quite apprehensive. Then came the Test Drive part and it turned the Tables. we were immediately convinced after the Test drive. it was 9th october and we paid the advance to book the car and take delivery on 12th Oct. on 12th Morning I recieved a call from the Sales guy that the Discounts have bben revised and instead of The Rs. 30000/- Negotiated discount we will be offered Rs. 45000/- so it was a very good experience for me. The delivery process was smooth and trouble free.
Prior to this I had been driving the Palio( which is quite a Stable car at High Speed). So when I Drove this car at 100 KMPH I was not comfortable. Till date I am Uncomfortable driving this car above speeds of 80 Kmph may be due to the Palio hangover. The other thing which initially bothered me was that I used to have a Sore Knee after driving the Spark as the Centre console is Little protruded out just near the gear stick. That was because I was driving with the seat too close to the Steering wheel. Now I drive with the seat Pushed back a bit and its OK now.
The Top of the Line Spark is More feature loaded than it competition products. The engine and gear shift is too too smooth. At times I apply the self again thinking that the engine is off. Braking is good, Suspension is good. Boot space is ok. The best part is it has Tubeless tyres which no other car in its segment provides as OE fitment. Central locking is Manual with open/close from driver side only where as in My palio it was from Driver as well as Passenger side.
The Icing on the Cake is its Mileage. It has given me 14-15 with Aircon and 16-17 without Aircon. and I have been told that after 10000 Km’s it will improve by a couple of Km’s.
The service is a bit of Hassle as it has to be Serviced every 5000 kms whereas other cars in its segment have to be serviced every 10000 Kms.
