Went for a test drive today(6.6.7) at Sundaram motors bangalore. Dealer was not ready to get the car to my place as people were rushing to see newly launched spark on a week day. I would like to state my experience in points. Please pick up as per your needs:
Positives:
Good looks.
Comfortable seat for the driver.
Very silent and smooth engine. In idle its almost soundless and still.
Negatives:
With A/C, not at all powerful. We were just three in the car and the car would just move like a maruti 800. But of course without A/c its quite good.
Indicator knob on left and wiper on right. Opposite to indian convention.
Dashboard glare on the front windshield is high.
Leg room for back seaters is ok.
Driver seat gives you a ok view. View comparable to Indica nothing great.
Luggage space is very less.
Lower models dont have power steering and AC. A/C is anyway useless.
Higher models very expensive for little extra they offer.
If you are tall then watch out for knee touch to lower dash board during drive.
What I dont know:
Mileage: I dont own one:) It was just a test drive. They claim 14 in city.
Top end speed with or without AC: As I drove in bangalore city, it was not possible:)
Crash history: new car. They claim its good.
Sturdyness at high speed. No I couldnt try.
Maintanence nobody knows. They claim parts are cheaper than Maruti.
Rolls our with apollo tubeless tires. I dont know how good it is.
