As I said in my profile, I am genuinely a nice person who doesn’t have problems with others very often at all. However, I also said that I am a very honest person & will tell it how it is when need be. Ladies and Gentlemen, this is one of those moments!!
Cingular is a rip off. I know that I am not the only one who favors this opinion from others I have talked to, and heard about. I also see from this website that others agree with me as well.
Here is just a few of my reasonings...
We started with Cingular about a year ago for a two year family plan. It all went smooth at first, just shortly. Here are the problems we have had:
) My sisters’ phone will constantly throw out an ear piercing shrill into her ear.
) It will also cut her off in the middle of a conversation several, several times. WE WENT IN TO TELL CINGULAR ABOUT IT & THEY ADMITTED THAT THEY KNEW THOSE PHONES DO THAT!! SOMETHING ABOUT HOW YOU MOVE WHEN YOU TALK ON THE PHONE AND WHAT SATELITE IT IS ATTACHED TO. They should tell you that a head of time.
) We went away to Indiana for a while and used our cell phones. As in our contract, we were told that our plan including NO ROAMING CHARGES out of the area or out of the state. When we arrived home, we received a bill in the mailing charging us over $200 for out of state roaming!! When we told them that the guy who helped us start our plan told us we had the contract that we were not to be charged for roaming out of the area, he lied. He said ’’No, I told them they weren’t charged in their own area’’ WELL DUD lol, YOU ARE NOT GOING TO BE CHARGED TWICE IN YOUR OWN AREA, B/C WE ARE ALREADY PAYING FOR THAT!!
) We have been over charged twice on 2 other bills. I don’t mean that harsh against the guy, but he did lie.
) I had to go in one time to have my phone fixed and they would not let me unless my mother was there b/c she is the main signer. That very same day she came in and had them to put my sister and I on as ’’authorized signers’’, we even watched her put it into the computer.
WELL... my phone has not worked for the last 5 days!! I know another girl who’s friend’s phone from cingular is doing the same thing. I went in yesterday with my sister & they told me THEY WOULD NOT FIX MY PHONE UNLESS MY MOTHER WAS THERE B/C SHE IS THE MAIN SIGNER, YET SHE ALREADY MADE US AUTHOURIZED SIGNERS!! I told the lady that my mother already made us authorized signers. SHE ARGUED WITH ME SAYING NO MY MOTHER DID NOT, B/C IT WAS NOT IN THE COMPUTER, ETC.
So, I can not even get my phone fixed until my mom can come in AGAIN!!!
We told them about the many other problems we have had.
They were kind of rude and said these were our only options:
1) Just deal with it until the end of our contract
2) each pay $150 each to cancel the contract
or (this one cracks me up) 3) PAY AN EXTRA $50 FOR A NEW PHONE AND SIGN A WHOLE NEW 2 YEAR CONTRACT FOR THAT PHONE.
YA RIGHT!!
Anyways, they rip you off, over charge you, give you false information and give you phones that only half way work!!
FOR YOUR INSANITY (lol), DO NOT USE CINGULAR!!

Hello again all, Just to let you know.. My pain with Cingular has continued!! They keep wanting us to just buy a whole new phone for the minimum of $50 and sign a new 2 year contract!!
We called the same number and they said that even though we have had all that trouble with them (being there fault and knowing it and admitting it) we still can only get away by paying $150 each or buying a whole new phone and agreement..!! Shame/..
