The Citi never sleeps

Wow, what a bank when it comes to systems. Even though some of the services are not good, I really love their self service aspect. This is Internet Banking at its best in India. Would not want to look at another bank due to this feature alone.

Human interaction is not at its best though. This is mainly due to the processes being outsourced and their quality is not at the hands of the bank. Or they have handbooks to answer the queries and cannot go beyond that. And a couple of issues with their DSAs. If you keep your dealings strictly with the bank, this is the best one you can find in India. You never ever need to go to the bank for any reason whatsoever! Best part is ATMs are configured to draw cash and check balances only. No more waiting in long queues for that person in front to finish off all transactions.

some time has flown since I wrote the above statements. Today Oct 10 2005, well needs a rethink...The bank site for iBanking is down and they dont acknowledge the fact on the site. You keep trying umpteen times like a bozo and then call the so called Citi-Phone officer. ’’sorry sir, u can check back in 30-45 minutes’’ keep checking the rest of the day and still does not work. Half a day of checking and then call the citiphone. Shout at him. He plays it safe. Sir Check back tomorrow!! Remember this is a bank that does not allow walkins to the bankd and telebanking is also charged. When I ask him about it, he has the audacity to tell me that only Bangalore transactions will be free...Perhaps some organizations think too much that they cannot acknowledge any failures!!
