You know whats weird about this review??? Its reviewed by someone who hasnt seen the film. Yeah you heard it right...I havnt seen Clerks... then you must be wondering how the hell am I reviewing it? Well read on to find out :)
The year was 1994 and the world came to know of a guy called Kevin Smith. He made this film on a budget of 27, 000$ with help from friends. And he madea masterpiece. In doing so, he proved his point that you dont need big budgets or famous stars to make a good film, all you need are great ideas. How do I know its a masterpiece? well I just know. I have read the script close to 10 times by now. I know each & every dialogue of the film & By God they are worth in gold. I think Clerks is the kind of movie that no matter how many times you watch it, never gets old and the jokes are still funny. Imagine I was laughing my heart out even the last time when I was reading the script. Imagine how funny this film must be to watch.
I had first heard of it 3 years back. And after searching for it all over I gave up & downloaded the script. I cannot wait till the day I am in US. Besides its not a clasic for its cinematography anyway. Its the script. This is one of the many disadvantages of living in a thirld world country.
Whats so amazing about CLERKS is how the characters take the most weird and irrelevant of things and turn them into dialogue masterpieces. There r so many.... like STAR WARS, Hockey , Ex Gfs... Then there r some really cult stuff in the film...like BERSERKER, 36(errr37 this discussion alone is worth the price of the ticket), Happy Scrappy-The Hero Pup. , Chewlie’s Gum representative & so many thers....
This is also the film which gave the world- Jay (Jason Mewes) and Silent Bob (Smith himself)- 2 of the most coolest characters to have ever graced cinema. They have been in every Kevin Smith film till date. Infact the latest Kevin Smith film JAY & SILIENT BOB STRIKES BACK is just about them. In short Kevin Smith movies are a world in itself where you meet some of the coolest dudes.
Ofcourse there r lotsaprofanities used...after all they are all cool...lol Lotsa cock jokes , cunt jokes , Star Wars fundas, Relationship fundas.
I reccomend this to all the cool people on earth. This is a classic. IF you r in india & cannot get the film then just download the script. It will be fun....i can asure you that.
