I am a member of Crossroads, Delhi car maintenance service on roads, for the last 2 years and paying my membership duly to them. The process is, they call me to inform that my card renewal is due. I prepare a cheque of 365 Rs. and ask them to come and collect the same. A person comes and takes the Cheque and handover an envelope to me. In that, there’s a membership card, a brochure and a sticker. I take that and keep it, thinking very securely that my car maintenance is safe now onwards.
But what the reality is :
This March, my membership was due, a person came and took the money, giving me the new card. Last Saturday, my car broke down at 2 pm in peak summer Delhi heat. I called Crossroads to comeover and help me.
To my utter surprise, they told me that my card is expired already and they can’t help me. Again in a helping mood, they asked me to pay 500 instantly for a new membership and 150 Rs. for car service. Asking when the service will arrive to me, they said, it will take minimum 1 hour. What more worse could I have expected from them. They very BOLDLY claim that the help will reach us in half an hour, which in actual is not the truth. I totally refused to pay them saying I have already paid my membership in March, they said, they don’t have any record, it only says, my card has been expired.
Leaving any more begging to them, I got out of my car, found a mechanic nearby (thankfully) who within 5 mins repaired my car taking only 100 Rs. from me. That person came out to be very helpful and reasonable at the time of my need.
Now coming back home, I called up Crossroads again to ask what’s the problem with my new membership, they took all the membership details from me, my Card No., My Car no., how much money I paid, what was the cheque no., date of the payment, ID no. of my membership, finally telling me they don’t have any such record. Now where’s my money gone, God Knows !!! And to that, Crossroads data doesn’t contain all this information, just by giving my card number.
They normally ask for the cheque in the name of Action India Pvt. Ltd., which I did that time, but is Crossroads cheating us thru some fake delivery boys, by delivering old used membership cards, or is it some other Cheating gang on move to cheat us in the name of Crossroads.
I am totally discouraged by the behaviour Crossroads showed to me and will not be going to take their Membership once again.
