Well... I have heard lot of comments about this poor car saying that Daewoo company is no more operational, no spare parts avilable, high fuel consumption.... etc etc etc. big deal !!! I have purchased a 1996 Cielo GLE 2 years ago.
At first instance I would like to state that this is the most comfertable and powerfull car I have ever driven. The car gives you a big car and a royal feel which is lacking in Esteems, Accents, Ikons etc. I would have paid the same purchase amount for a second hand Maruti 800 also.
So why not go for Cielo when I am getting all the goodies in the same price?? Power Stearing, Power windows, Power Antenna, Central Locking, Airconditioning, Internally adjustable RVM (on both sides), Rear Window Defrogger, Fog lamps, Stereo with four speakers, Tachometer, Headlight on warning chime, door open alarm....the list is endless. Also I get a boot space which is 5 times greater than Maruti 800. Even if 2-3 of the above things were not working, you can get them fixed for Rs 5, 000 - 6, 000.
As for the prerformance, I am truly amazed and can leave any Accent , esteem etc behind with ease. The power seems to come within as you press the accelerator. I had touched speeds in Excess of 140 kmph at Agra ighway with ease. Now, if you want all these things in any BIG car, you will end up paying not less than Rs 7-8 Lacs. Even if I throw the car after using it for 3 years, I get my money’s worth !!! And yesssss, I get an average of above 14 kmpl on highways.
So, all the people around, who had dreamt of owning Big Cars, go for a second hand Cielo. Use it for three years and sell it. I bet you will enjoy the drive......
