Does Dell really provide excellent customer service?

*On 6th May I ordered for a 6 cell laptop batteryfor my Inspiron 1525. I paid Rs. 4800/- on 6th of May through mycredit card. On 11th May I called up the customer care person Ms.Vidya K to know about the status of my order shipment. Ms. Vidya told me thatthe shipment hasn’t been yet processed; leave aside sending it through thecourier. I just want to know-
1. When I paid the payment on 6th May, then why shouldn’t it been processed till 11th May? I don’tunderstand why the order has not yet been shipped when I paid the payment on 6thMay, 2010.
- Your TAT is 7-10 days. Do you expect to send thebattery within the TAT, when the order is not yet processed?
*Ms. Vidya was talking about some internal processes which asa customer, I don’t understand at all. I am concerned with the order shipment(which hasn’t been done yet). I specifically told her that on 17thMay that I am relocating to another state and I asked her if I can get thebattery within 16th May. She told me that it’s possible and so Iwent ahead and ordered the battery.
From an esteemed organization like Dell and its employees weexpect more professionalism and customer centric focus, but here I haveexperienced something totally opposite.
