I guess the minds of the producer, director, actors and anybody who was involved in the thing(of course it cant be labelled as a movie) must have been foggy thats why the title is Dhund. The title has otherwise no connection with the thing.
A little about the thing first.
Dhund
Director : shyam Ramsay
Producer : Yashovardhan Tyagi
Music : Viju Sha
Cast : Amarr Mihir Upadhyay
Apoorva Agnihotri
Aditi Govitrikar
Richa
Prem Chopra, Gulshan Grover, a non-existent Tom Alter and Irfan Khan
Its supposed to be a thriller. But all the thrill you get is when Aditi Govitrikar struts about in skimpy clothes looking insanely stupid. The other girl Richa doesnt look stupid (nor beautiful)but is equally bad at acting. Amarr(I dont know anything about the extra r) was a real dissappointment. I have seen his acting on TV, though not on Kyunki Saas... and I feel he is an Okay actor who looks good. But his acting is way below par in Dhund.
The story, if I cancall it that, starts off with a murder. The murderer though not shown clearly is clearly guessed as Tom Alter. The credits follow this with an out of tune Viju Sha number in the background. what follows has no link with what happened before the credits until the last moment of the thing. Suddenly out of nowhere Apoorv and Amarr come in and so do the two stupid actresses. After quite a bit of insane drama and some of the lamest attempt at comedy there happens a beauty conetst in which Simran(Aditi)must take part. And theres this girl who studies with her and wants to take part but cant since simran is taking part in it as she defeates her in all competitions in school(so much for logic). So her brother Ajit Khurana(Irfan) decides to kill Simran if she takes part. after a little melodrama and the beauty contest he does go to kill her but he cant and instead is brutally killed by the two girls.
Now as expected the murdered resurfaces and the rest is more insane.
Full credit goes to the writer who thought of salvaging the script with a last insane twist. Kudos to the director and the producer to have got the guts to make a movie out of such a script. And cheers also for the actors who braved the apparent risk of endangering their careers for this thing.
Before I forget theres one very special thing in the movie which you dont get in the regular ones : in not even one song in the movie is there sync between the screen and the soundtrack and the feeling is marvellous.
Viju Sha is really dissappointing in the music. Its hard to believe that the same person gave music in movies like Mohra.
The choreography is as bad as it can possibly get. It has all the moves of a B-grade movie. But in this movie thats what you enjoy.
The Verdict : DO NOT WATCH THIS ONE
