Subtle Sequel to the Successful Dr. Dolittle. Dr. John Dolittle(Eddie Murphy) does talk and understands Animals. In this sequel he has to save a forest range from getting de-forested by millionare Lumber Merchant (Jeffrey Jones). For that not only does he have to cancel a family trip to Europe but he also has to see that a rare western bear whose name is Archie (Voice of Steve Zahn) has to mate with the only single Female western bear Ava ( Voice of Lisa Kudrow). The Lawyer of The Lumber Merchant (Kevin Pollack) tries and also nealy succeeds in winning the lawsuit against Dr. Doliitle and his wife Lisa (Kristen Wilson). But then Dr. John Dolittle and his Animal friends ’’make him an offer he can’t refuse’’. Very simple film. Eddie Murphy is good as usual. The one liners are fine. The special effects and the in-jokes are good. This sequel can’t be compared to successful and outstanding movie sequels like The Godfather - II or Toy Story - II but it does have a certain charm and simplicity which many mkivies do not have. Worth a watch.
