I was looking to buy a mobile phone and like all other I started browsing the net for it. I reached ebay as usual and did a search, registered myself and found few good deals on second hand sets. I bought 1 mobile on ebay.in and the price I was getting was 23500 upon paymen the price reached to 26363, I asked seller why the extra amount? He said its tax. I asked why he did’nt mention it on the listing he said then I would’nt had purchased the item. I did’nt paid and reported the whole scene to ebay. After 2 days the seller got suspended.
I then again found another deal on which I paid through my credit card(ebay’s PaisaPay). The seller asked me to pay him extra money or deposit money in the bank account directly(fraud smell). I refused and the seller did’nt ship the item and also threathened me that he’s is NCP leader in Mumbai and I will see the consequences. I reported the same to ebay and his account also got suspended. As I had paid with PaisaPay my money is refunded but till date the money in stuck in the refund process.
I then again found another deal(auction type) for which I had woke up till 3 AM. I won the item and paid asap! I confirmed my credit card and waited eagerly for the seller to ship the item. But what I see next day? The seller has put the same thing again for sale on ebay.in. Upon this I asked seller wether he’s going to ship the item or not? The seller gave 1 word reply: nope and now its me again who is going to report the matter to ebay, then ebay will investigate, then seller will be suspended, my refund will be initiated, I will get the refund and what not.
So in the end I have reliased that ebay.in is one of the worst place to buy anything. Its better to buy from local market than from ebay. You may get cheap deals on ebay but they are not really cheap.
For eg. If a mobile costs Rs. 20000 in market which you just pay and take. In ebay the same mobile will be 20000+ ebay fees+ paisapay transaction fees(upto 5%)+ shipping charges so my question in real is HOW THE HELL EBAY.IN IS CHEAPER?
Its more of a scam portal. Innocent people go, find cheap deals, and pay seller’s directly in their bank accounts etc. and seller’s do not ship items etc. And what ebay does is simply suspend the sellers account. There’s no proper verification of seller wether he’s capable of selling or not etc.
In the end, I will never see face of ebay again. This was the last time I did any type of transaction. I will pay more in local shops instead of purchasing through ebay.in. I hope some one some day takes ebay and fake sellers to court so ebay learns a lesson that they’re not just providing a platform and they are equally responsible if some fraud or unethicle trade practice is being done.
