Ebay.in- Excellent Site

I was browsing throught the site when I stumbled upon a lot of reviews, 150 odd to be excact on ebay .in (formerly baazee.com) and the genral mood was not only one of dissatisfaction but some towrds hostility.

Having been a bazee user for close to 5 years now my curiosity ensure I read as many as I could before finally signing off and deciding to write one myself.

I was amazed at the negativity which baazee has received. Site not working, dishonest sellers, dishonest buyers, pages not loading, slow interface etc etc and I can not recall one incident wher anything similar has happened to me. In fact I think one of the smoothest transactions I have ever seen on an online platform has been from baazee to ebay.in.

I have been both a seller and a buyer, the latter being a bigger role and firmly believe that the reason so many people have got so angry is simply because they have not taken the time out to understand the moods which run on that website. Its an ’’online market place’’ after all and will in a lot of respects follow similar principles as a physical market place vis a vi a product, a seller and a buyer.

Some advice to ensure satisfaction:-

  1. As a seller gauge the need of your product. If its not unique then make it stand out. subscribe to one of the paid highligting tools or just be creative. Put in a ’’in your face’’ photograph , use a catchy title. Pls dont assume that everything u have to sell willbe sold simply by listing it. I have roughly sold close to 75k worth of goods on the site.

  2. Buyers- verify thew seller. look at the feedback, ask as many questions as you want, ask for product images. If in the same town go in for a COD or a pick up and pay facilityto ensure u get to see the product. esp while buying secondhand items. I have bought close to 150k worth of stuff esp electronics.

  3. Fraud- There will always be people whoi will buy or sell somethign and not carry it through...dont we face similar problems. A dealer selling a bad unit and refusing to exchange it, companies not following warranty promises, overpaying for somethign.. this could happen at your local vegetable shop, why crib specefically at ebay? Ebay has certain safegaurd. For example. If someone buys something and they dont pay ur fees to ebay is reversed instantly. it does not even go out of ur packet.

  4. Convenience and Variety- very few physical places will offer you so much under one roof (or website). within seconds you can compare prices between various sellers, find something u cant get in ur city etc ect. Numberous payment methods are offered including COD..how much easier can it get?

  5. Ebay Fee’s- hey cmon, the site needs to make money. why else would it be in business. How much is debatable I guess but I personaly dont have anything wrong with it. If isell a mobile for 15000 and need to pay a fee of 500, I dont have a problem..either my margins are adequate or its a secondhand unit or ur dying to get rid of it.

Dont judge a book by its cover..try reading it for a change.
