Much awaited multi starcast movie. Story about relationship and the generation gap between a self made man (amitabh bachchan) and his son (Akshay Kumar). Other Starcast includes Juhi Chawla, Karishma Kapoor, Simone Singh, Shakti Kapoor, Mohnish Behl, Ashish Vidyarthi, Sharat Saxena, Rakhee and a surprising pre - interval 2 scene cameo by Sunil Shetty. With such a huge starcast it was expected that this movie will make the same impact as The Godfather did 30 years ago in Hollywood. Sorry, but its not possible although the film tries to be as real and down to earth as possible. There is nothing much in the same old story where the father throws the son out of his house and when the father is in trouble the son helps him out. You do have the feeling of deja vu. But director suneel darshan conveys the father-son relationship as nicely as possible and fairly succeeds. The one watch out scene is when Amitabh bachchan gets angry at akshay kumar for assaulting the union leader of his factory. Surprisingly the the actress have nothing much to do and it would have been fine had their roles would have been given more space. But with Amitabh Bachchan you cant expect anyone to give anybody more importance. Akshay kumar still hams in scenes where he has to cry but he has given a good performance. The songs, as usual, have no meaning in this movie. There are a few technical flaws but watch it only for the standout yet down to earth performance by amitabh bachchan (who s already been nominated for the best actor award in my book). This movie was reported as a semi autobiographical movie of akshay kumar. This movie reminds you of movies like Shakti.
