Update: Feb 19 2014.
Regarding the taste of the water. I filed a complaint online, a technician came 2 days later, he emptied the tank and set the’Mineral Modulator’ at level 1(default is 3, I set it at 5, thinking that water taste would improve). Viola! water is very tasty now. I am so relieved. He also tested PH levels, they came down to 11 from 145. It will go to’0’ in the next tank fill, technician told.
As usual, there are only negative reviews on this product. Most of the reviewers did not bother to update their review, regarding what happened later.
I was very hesitant to buy this depending on its looks. But there are two more filters extra in this(compared to ENHANCE), also it can work hardness of water from 200-2000, where as Enhance can clean 500-1500. Also Geneus water chamber is not reachable, so it protects the purity, security of water. In Enhance, (two of relatives complained) ants are going into the water chamber because of its sweetness, such thing will not happen in Geneus. Also it has a chip, if any of the filters are not original, the chip will not turn on the system. Water levels display on the screen, so are the water taste levels, we can increase or decrease, depending on our taste buds.
As usual, sales person does not know anything about this. I wanted to talk to the technician, but he was not coming into picture. So what I did was, I told sales person that I would pay the money only after the installation is done and if everything works well, he said yes and delivered the Geneus within two days. Third day, technician came and installed it. We emptied two tanks, just to be safe.
Everything went well, water is good, it is not as tasty as mineral water. I increased the water taste level, it might make a difference in the coming days. I paid the amount two days after it was installed.
I am happy, I will update this post, when there is any problem or how the service is being done etc.
I put it in my dining hall, right next to my dish washer and washing machine, it just suited so well. I did not want it to be in the kitchen. In the dining, its easily reachable to kids, they can place their glass or bottle on the stand and fill the water.
Enhance is 15000, Geneus is 23000. I think if you can stretch your budget, its worth buying Geneus, otherwise Enhance is also a nice choice, it almost has all the features(My neighbor bought Enhance, water tasted great).
