I havent had a worse experience with any courier in India, not even with a certain Madhur Courier who charges Rs. 15/- for a Delhi-Hyderabad courier. Considering my first bad experience as a one off event, I decided to give another try, but the exact same thing repeated and then it dawned on me, I saw the pattern.
Eureka! I had broken the Fedex Code! Sharing it here: Book a Priority Overnight with Fedex and just when the committed delivery time(24 hours that is) is about to get over, youll see "Delivery Exception" on their online tracking system. What that term means is that the consignee was not available. No doorbell rings, no phone call is made when the said "delivery attempted" is made. At the first instance I gave them the benefit of doubt, since I did doze off for a couple of minutes that day. But this very same thing repeated next time and this time I was on a high doze of coffee, working to complete my assignment and I was more than a 100% sure that no doorbell rang and there is no record of a missed call on my phone. Still, the online tracking system showed "delivery exception"! I also booked a priority overnight myself and it actually reached in 10 days!
I asked for refund under their Money Back Guarantee and they havent even acknowledged the claim! I wonder why there arent a couple hundred lawsuit filed on them in the consumer court: Multiple counts of promised service not provided, misleading and defunct Money Back Guarantee scheme being advertised. Its high time consumers like me got together and took them to task for trouncing consumer rights so blatantly! Anyone ready?
