The Premier Padmini or simply Fiat I had was an excellent car. I loved it more than my wife. The car was wit me for almost 16 years. I also have a Fiat Uno, found the padmini more exciting. It was quite easy to control that car in the Bombay traffic. The car was bought second hand from Goa, but was hardly used for 4 months and run 14000 kms . So for me it was as good as new. It had its last long drive was barely 1 month before I sold it. Though 16 yrs old it did 110-120 kmph comfortably on its drive from Bombay to Kolhapur and back.
I had no intensions of selling it but had to take it by ruling my heart with my mind as it had a lot of formalities to be completed of the change of registeration to Bombay from Goa and the fitness ceritficate since it was more than 15 yrs old. I was in tears when the car left me for the last time as it had taught me all my driving tricks.
That car was a beauty and never troubled me with any sort of problems or with the fuel economy giving 13-15 kmpl in city.
