Amazing and slightly unusal story about a young afro-american lad’s (rob brown in an impressive debut) relationship with shy authour William Forrstor (wonderful performance by sean connery) and how forrestor helps him deal with his going to a posh manhattan high school and a jealous professor (wonderful performance by F. Murray Abraham). With stalwarts like sean connery and F. Murray abraham it is actually Rob Brown who is a dark horse winner. If you are wondering....... YES..There is this one conflict scene between F.Murray Abraham And Sean connery (just like Al pacino and robert de niro in Heat). And thats the outstanding climax scene. There is also one surprising cameo in the final scene. (See the movie to find out who is it). This movie has shades of such movies like good will hunting (the same director..gus van sant), Amadeus (oscar winner for the best film, directr and actor - f. murray abraham), and he got game. This movie was also widely publisiced as the movie by the director whose previous film was good will hunting. It is incoorect. The directors last movie before this was psycho (the awful 1998 remake of alfred hitchcocks classic). Watch finding forrestor at any cost.
