The sweet striking voice of **Kavita Krishnamurthy** in?Aaj Main Oopper?, even after years, keeps ringing in my ears frequently & I have always been intensely fanatic about her adorable voice until date. Kavita is called either as Kavita Krishnamoorthy or sometimes Kavita Krishnamurthy-Subramaniam.(It is most unfortunate that there is just only one review on Kavita Krishnamurthy in the Mouthshut.)
Kavita always has a fresh, delightful heart-melting voice which really keeps mesmerizing me. The fact remains that her classical background has added more beauty to her filmi-playback. My favourite male playback singer is S.P.B. & Hariharan and when I am in a pretty bad mood, I prefer to hear the melodies of either Kavita or Saadhana Sargam.
Of course, I?m the all-time fan of Asha Bonsle, Chitra, P. Susheela etc. Kavita, may be, I could say for almost 7 to 8 years back from now, is the new addition into my favourite list. I love Kavita?s lovely presentation in?Maang Bharo Sajana?, which dates back to the 1980s, but I think she had more opportunities really starting from the year 1984 which include, ?Karma?, ?Boxer?, ?Pyaar Jhukta Nahin? and if I am right, the?Ek Nai Paheli?!
Although she had done playback singing in some of the very popular ones like ChaalBaaz, Nigahen, Ram Lakhan, Batwara, her singing earned more repute in Mr. India(?Hawa Hawaii?) and?Eeshwar?. Apparently, there were also many other wonderful songs of hers which people were at least aware of, like?Dost Garibon Ka(year 1989) and Rihaee(1988).
I think after introduction of Kavita into some of the songs of Music Director, A.R. Rehman, her name actually earned more popularity among the cine-fans.
Kavita is generally depicted as a very cool person who at her very first take itself, happens to pick-up the exact tunes / tones and due to this, is being liked by all music directors. How can anyone forget her remarkable playback in recent(if I am right in the year 2003) songs of Ek Hindustani, Kuch Naa Kaho & Koi?. Mil Gaya?
Some of her other most popular hits of the year 2003 include:
? Calcutta Mail
? Escape from Taliban
? Love at Times Square
? Baaz: A Bird in Danger
In fact not being known to many people of how many songs Kavita has actually taken up, she has really performed very well in hundreds of projects. She has done playback singing in maximum number of films during the year 2002, which include, Junoon, Kaante, Rishtey, Jeena Sirf Merre Liye, Kehtaa Hai Dil Baar Baar, Pyaar Diwana Hota Hai etc.
Still moving on to her older works, following are some of her evergreen hits:
? Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.
? Majunu
? Badal Paree
? Khushi
? Baaghi
? Beti No. 1
? Love You Hamesha
? Mudhalvan
? Uyirin Uyire etc.
Well, you all may wonder why I have still not given my best five songs of Kavita?. Can I reveal something? For me, right from the beginning of compilation of this review, it?s been pretty difficult to choose or confine myself to just FIVE songs while I love every song given of Kavita Krishnamurthy. Especially right from her entry into the light-music / cine field, I had become an ardent admirer of her majestic voice. So I plead my dearest MSians not to chew me out for not giving the five best songs. I love every song of hers & in fact there are lot more of her works which are still unknown to me. So let me try to educate myself about all her works and then do a comparison among them & provide a review of her FIVE BEST. OK, Agreed?
Being a music fan, I love Kavita a lot and pray to God that she continues to perform fantastically in her future projects too! I wish her beautiful voice not be confined to Tamil, Hindi, Telugu(she has done playbacks in some dubbed versions in Telugu) & English alone. I hope she actively accepts other Indian languages also & give an opportunity to people belonging to various states to enjoy & cherish her sweet voice.
Hope you all had liked this review? do provide me with your valuable feedbacks and please do correct me in case if any of the points presented by me had been wrong.
