Hi Chetan,
So how was your get-together at Alok’s place? Hope you had fun..
This is Jos writing this review as I just finished reading ‘Five Point Someone’. You made me to revisit my good old college days. Yes it was the best of my life too… I should say that the entire story sounds original except the climax. Yes Chetan, I liked the way you used the college roof for boozing and smoking all other hi five things. I did like your ‘Cooperate to Dominate’ idea and your Operation Pendulum… Yet, the existence of a character like Samir is really difficult to believe.
But with an IIT tag given to your story, an educated guy or for that matter an average Indian expects something more. Will you appreciate if I say that IIT tag was given for the heck of hype?
Chetan, after reading this book what I feel about the book is that, it is fun!! Pure fun. What we should have liked more is something inspirational like ‘The Class’ by Erich Segal. One more thing I liked in ‘5.something’ is the way you have drawn Alok’s, Ryan’s & Neha’s picture. But you have mentioned little about the protagonist Hari. The story is the vision of Hari. Somehow I liked the way the story moves.
Wishing you all the best for your second book
Cheers
~Jos

Mates,
Five point something is not ‘DIL CHAHTHAA HEI’. It’s not Erich Segal’s ‘THE CLASS’ . It’s a story of an IIT student Hari, his girlfriend Neha and his best friends Ryan and Alok. Nothing much about Hari is being explained in this book. Ryan is kinda happy go lucky guy. Alok is a mottu from a middle class family with a single dream in his mind (A job in Delhi). Neha is the daughter of IIT Prof with an aversion towards IIT students… Well !!! It’s their journey…
Then what happened????
