FIZA- Blows the competition away!

WARNING!Those of you who have no artistic sense and go head over heels for thos ’’feel-good’’ films like KKHH and mohabbatein and Hritik’s dancing should avoid this film.

Even after seeing Kaho naa pyar hai, I remained unimpressed with Hritik’s acting abilities. I thought that he would turn into one of the one-hit-wonders. However this Film has proved that acting and brawn do go together.

The film is your basic boy-turns-terrorist story, so not much innovation in the plot.

However the superb acting by Karishma , Jaya and Hritik really raises the film to a higher level.

After his non-acting in KNPH , hritik really proves himself in this film. This should silence his critics for a while. Only God knows how he won best actor award for KNPH and not this movie!

Karishm has finally grown up as an actress hope she does more serious films like Fiza in the future and reduces her roles in david dhawan type movies. She deserved the award for best actress.

Even though Jaya Bachan is appearing in movies after a long time she successfully manages to play the role of Aman’s(Hritik) mother with great conviction.

The Music of the film is quite good. Anu Malik has really excelled in this album. Especially good are the songs ’’aaja mahiyan’ , ’’mehboob mere’ and ’’mere dost ka jeenaza’’, which sounds really sad.

But the film has got a few weak points. First of all, the story has been done so MANY times that you can probably even figure out the ending without watching this movie.

How come Fiza decides to search for her brother after six years? She’s supposed to be a decent muslim girl, but how come she goes to a disco ?

I know this last point might be a little over the top, but here goes: Aman is supposed to be from a poor family and he’s run away form home. But notice that in the ’training’ scene even though he cant afford to go to a gym, he’s wearing REEBOK shoes worth Rs. 3000!.

Overall this is quite a good film, especially after KNPH. If you ignore the plot and some minor quirks, you will find this a highly enjoyable and entertaing film with lots of good acting.
