Shock & Horror at Flipkart's service

Trusting Flipkart to be one of the best and most trusted online sellers, I placed on order for this product

after finding ’50%-off’ to be irresistible.


However, to my horror, after 4-5 days of patiently waiting for the product to arrive, I suddenly got an email from Flipkart saying that my order had been ’RETURNED’. When I called up on customer support, they said that ’my pincode is not serviceable’ and hence the order has been cancelled.


Will Flipkart care to answer the following questions:




  1. Why did no one from Flipkart call me and ask me whether I have another address to which they could send the product? I have currently 3 addresses listed on my profile. I could easily given them another address.




  2. The order page showed status as ’returned’, whereas it should have been ’cancelled by Flipkart’. Plus, the cancellation reason was not mentioned anywhere. I had to call up customer service to get the reason.




  3. I deserve basic courtesy to be informed when the order was canceled, but nothing of that sort happened.




  4. How can I now get the product at the same price, since I had placed the order at 50% off price?




  5. When I spoke with customer service guys, they said that the ’SELLER’ is responsible, some ’WS’ company, and not them. Come on, Flipkart. Are you ready to stoop to such low levels, that you are merely passing the buck, like some dirty government department officer?




  6. All I got from the customer service was ’we regret, we are sorry, blah blah’. No one offered any solution.




  7. One of the customer service guys gave me stupid reasons like, perfumes cannot be sent by air, cannot be sent by surface, seller is from Delhi etc etc. These were all excuses, and more importantly, how are these my problems?




  8. All the customer service personnel were hell bent on pinning the blame on the seller. My question is, if seller is responsible for everything, Flipkart should simply shut shop.






I know that nothing will come out of this complaining. After all, Flipkart gets thousands of orders every day. But I still want to make sure that others are aware of the fact that not everyone gets ’excellent service’ from Flipkart.
