I recently bought Ford Fusion. I selected it for its ruggedness (DURATEC DOHC engine), which only high-end cars / SUVs sport, as well as the space and riding confort it affords. The AC is superb and the space-storage options are wounderful. The basic version, unfortunately, does not come in colours such as Black!
The best feature is the ground clearence which is a must on Indian roads. The tilt steering adds to the array of facilities offered.
The boot space is 400 lts - massive and in league with todays cars. The rear seats in the 60:40 fashion can allow carrying articles which are long!
The power steering is automatic for all windows with the standard child locks for the rear one. I feel that an additional manual option could also be provided, else you need to start the car, if you forgot to close the windows!
The price is high but I guess would come down later. Surprisingly, you do not find many cars on the roads. In fact, I am yet to find another Ford Fusion on the streets of Lucknow!
Overall, it is a good buy. The Ford tag did influence me. I chose it over Honda City, Suzuki Baleno, Hyuendai Accest GLE, Tata Indigo and Suzuki Esteem.
The fuel efficency ratio is to be watched! A good buy. You will realise the pleasure of driving over 60 kmph. It is a pain to drive in the city -- UUV.. !?
