You Cant Get a Decent wash with a Top Loading mach

I had a top loading washing machine which was semi automatic.I had a tough time with it.It happened once too often that I switched on the tap and put in the detergent and got busy in some work. By the time I would realise that the tap was on, the detergent had been drained due to the overflowing water. So many times have I had to put in detergent more than once.I had my mind made up that it was time to switch to a more efficient washing machine.I required a washing machine that I could put the clothes in, add the detergent and switch o the tap and power and then forget till it called me over to remove the clothes.I surveyed the market and asked friends and relatives. My brother has a front loading washing machine and he was very happy with it.The only problem he had with it was that once you have put the clothes inside and switched it on, then you could not add or remove any clothes till the wash cycle was complete. It was the cost factor which made me decide in favour of a Samsung 5.5 KG Top loading Fully Automatic Washing Machine It cost me about Rs 18, 000/-.The front loading version was costing about Rs26, 000/- approximately. After all I had to see my budget too.Being Fully automatic I thought it will save me the bother of changing clothes from one drum to another and everytime switching on the tap and then shutting it before the water starts overflowing. I got the machine installed and proudly put all the dirty clothes in it and returned after the music indicated that the wash cycle was over.I took out allthe clothes and put them out to dry thinking that they must be sparkling. When I collected the clothes inthe evening after they had dried, I realised that the stains were as they had been. I thought that I had probably made some mistake. Next time I stood by and saw the wash action. I realised that despite the churning action, the clothes on top remain on top and do nt get cycled tot he bottom of the tub where they can be scrubbed by the ribbed impeller. Some clothes just keep rotating on the top layer. How could I expect them to get cleaned if they just kept rotating?I realised that in order to get a good wash I have to stand with the machine and manually rotate the clothes from the bottom to the top and thus ensure that all clothes get a chance to be scrubbed by the ribbed impeller at the bottom. If I had to stand there and rotate the clothes, then what is the use of a fully automatic machine? I realised that in a front loading washing machine all clothes keep tumbling as the drum rotates and the clothes get scrubbed evenly all over and they have a better chance of coming out clean.I realised that I had gone in for a bad bargain. A little saving but a lot of head ache. I realised that
